DO
+ Clean your jewelry regularly using warm water to wash and a soft cloth to pat dry.
+ Gently wipe your piece with a jewelry polishing, non-scratch cloth every now and then to promote shine. Find them here:
+ Store your jewelry in an air tight container (a bag will work just fine) in a low humidity environment.
DON'T
+ Do not wear your jewelry in the ocean or swimming pools, the salt water and chlorine can cause damage.
+Don’t wear your jewelry when cleaning. Exposure to heavy detergents and cleaning agents can be detrimental.
+ Perfume, hairspray and hand lotions may tarnish your jewelry due to the harsh chemicals they contain, these should not be worn when wearing your jewelry (a possibility would be to put on your jewelry AFTER you use these products).
OPALS
Opals are very soft stones and should never be worn while cleaning, working out, gardening, etc. Avoid harsh temperature changes with your opals, extreme temperatures can cause your opals to crack.
Ethiopian Opals should never be worn in water, they are "hydrophane", this means that they absorb water and when they do their appearance changes. If the Opals come in contact with water, they will soak it up it like a sponge. If the Opals are submerged in water and allowed to absorb it, they may lose their fire temporarily. The fire and color should come back once the opals have fully dried, this can take a day to a few weeks, depending on how much water they absorbed.
ABOUT BRONZE
+ We love bronze: Due to the ancient, raw, and naturally beautiful qualities. It's bright gold when polished, and becomes richer with age.
+ What you might notice: Occasional green or dark marks on skin.
+ Why it happens: Copper in bronze reacts with skin’s natural acids, especially at first.
+ Why we don’t coat it: We keep it unsealed to preserve its authentic look and avoid harsh chemicals.
+ Good to know: Not everyone experiences this, and it usually fades over time.
+ How to reduce it: Keep jewelry clean and dry, remove before heavy sweating, and polish regularly.
